According to Lao Dong Newspaper, on the afternoon of July 30, at the intersection of M1 road with QL1A, Binh Hung Hoa ward, Binh Tan district, many passenger buses leaving parking lot 39 showing signs of violations were stopped by Phu Lam Traffic Police Team for inspection.
Among them, the passenger bus with license plate 77H - 050.40 of Bay Vinh bus company running the route HCMC - Binh Dinh did not have a passenger transport contract and picked up and dropped off passengers at unauthorized locations (according to passengers on the bus, this bus company picked up passengers inside parking lot 39). For these violations, the driver will be fined from 1 to 2 million VND, the bus company will be fined up to 11 million VND, and the bus's badge will be revoked from 1 to 3 months.
At the same time, the passenger bus with license plate 77B - 021.60 of Ba Quy bus company, after leaving parking lot 39, was also stopped by the traffic police for inspection. During the inspection, the traffic police fined the driver for not wearing a uniform and not wearing a name tag while transporting passengers.
A representative of Phu Lam Traffic Police Team said that from the beginning of 2024 until now, the team has fined 776 cases of violations involving passenger buses, with the most common violation being unauthorized stopping and parking. In the near future, the team will increase patrols and inspections on the QL1A route to handle violating passenger buses and ensure traffic safety.
Notably, parking lot 39 is located right at the intersection of M1 road, road number 7 (Vinh Loc industrial zone) with QL1A, which is a busy traffic point with a large volume of vehicles passing through. The fact that bus companies pick up and drop off passengers, and enter and exit this parking lot, makes traffic in the area more chaotic, with a constant risk of traffic accidents.
