Many bridges in Dong Le commune are currently in a state of disrepair, affecting people's lives and production, especially in the upcoming rainy and stormy season.
In Kim Tien village (Dong Le commune), the suspension bridge across Gianh river, the main connecting route to National Highway 15, was built more than 20 years ago, last repaired in 2014, and is now severely damaged. The bridge surface has many rotten planks, lightning-daged cables, and anti-vibration piers with signs of severe deformation.

According to local people, many students travel back and forth to school every day. At the same time, because this is the only way out, the transportation of agricultural products, supplies, funeral arrangements or flood relief must go through the bridge.
Another suspension bridge connecting sub-zone 3 with Dong Tan sub-zone has also expired. The bridge was built in 1997, currently the bridge surface is narrow, with broken planks and vibrations when people or motorbikes pass by. Mr. Phan Xuan Chien - Head of Dong Tan Sub-area said that the bridge has degraded, so he hopes that the competent authority will invest in building a new bridge.
In addition to the two suspension bridges mentioned above, people in Dong Lao and Ha Lao villages are still using a pontoon bridge to connect with the center of Dong Le commune. During the rainy season, the pontoon bridge had to be dismantled due to rising water, causing the area to be temporarily cut off, affecting the evacuation, transportation of patients and ensuring safety.
Mr. Dinh Tien Dung - Chairman of Dong Le Commune People's Committee said that the bridges in the area have been in use for many years and are no longer guaranteed technical requirements and safety during the rainy and stormy season. However, investing in building a new bridge is facing difficulties due to resource constraints.
The local government has recommended that superiors consider, survey the situation and have a plan to support the construction of a solid bridge to replace it. The goal is to ensure traffic safety, create favorable conditions for people to travel, develop the socio-economy and respond to natural disasters in the coming time.
