On March 19, Mr. Nguyen Van Khanh - Chairman of the People's Committee of Nam Ba Don commune, Quang Tri province, said that a stone mine in the area when blasting for stone mining caused stones to fly into residential areas, causing many houses to be punctured and affecting dozens of households.
The incident occurred at about 11:30 am on March 18, during the blasting for stone mining at the mine of Joint Stock Company 207 (belonging to Tien Phong village, Nam Ba Don commune, Quang Tri province), causing stones to fly into people's houses and nearby cemeteries.

Immediately after receiving the news, the Chairman of Nam Ba Don Commune People's Committee directed the Commune Police, the Economic Department and the head of Tien Phong village to the scene to verify.
Through inspection, it was discovered that 5 houses had rocks thrown, breaking the tiled roofs, and dozens of other houses had rocks scattered throughout the yards and gardens.
The incident has caused people to be upset and worried. Currently, local authorities and functional forces are urgently inspecting, handling and proposing measures to ensure safety in the company's stone mining.

It is known that the stone mine of Joint Stock Company 207 was licensed for exploitation from 2011, with an area of 4.9 ha, with a mining term of 30 years.
According to local people, the situation of mining stone with mines causing stone to fly into people's houses causing damage has also occurred for many years, but has not been completely resolved to this day.
