In a house one meter lower than the road, Mr. Nguyen Kim Hoan (Group 124, Hoa Khanh Ward) transported all his belongings and electronic equipment to the small attic.

Although he is very familiar with flooding, this time his family was still worried when hearing the news of storm No. 12 making landfall. Last month, with only about 15-20 minutes of rain, water overflowed the house, Mr. Hoan's child's wedding became a "flood" that he still haunted until now.

"The road is higher than the house floor, rainwater kept pouring down on my house, there was no way out. It only rained for about 15-20 minutes, but at my child's wedding last month, the tables were submerged in water, unable to get used to it" - Mr. Hoan said.
Having just experienced a flood in September 2025, the family of Mr. Doan Van Thu (Group 124, Hoa Khanh Ward) was not yet able to stabilize when storm No. 12 was about to hit.
According to Mr. Thu, every time it rains heavily, the entire residential area is heavily flooded. One day at midnight, his family had to wake up to splash water, it was very difficult. This morning, his family reviewed and raised all the furniture in the house to avoid damage.

According to the reporter's records, for many years, people living in residential areas in Hoa Khanh ward have been constantly flooded every time it rains. Every time it rains heavily, many roads in the area become rivers, water floods into houses, causing property damage and disrupting people's lives.
Talking to Lao Dong reporter on the morning of October 22, Mr. Mai Manh - Head of Group 124 (Hoa Khanh ward) - said that to respond to storm No. 12, the local government has mobilized people here to proactively protect their property and avoid damage.

According to Mr. Mai Manh, the main cause of flooding every time it rains here is because water from mountainous areas flows in, and some drainage culverts in higher areas are filled by people to avoid odor. This caused rainwater to have no way out, concentrating into low-lying areas, causing serious flooding for households living below.
Mr. Mai Manh has repeatedly petitioned the local authorities and expressed his opinions during meetings with voters, but the situation has not been completely resolved. After the recent rains and the upcoming storm No. 12, people here just hope that Da Nang City will soon have a solution to help people feel secure and stabilize their lives.
