Breaking off barriers, spontaneous entrances and exits at Hanoi railway coffee street

Hanoi - The authorities are stepping up handling of violations of railway safety corridors at the railway coffee street.

The Road Traffic Police Team No. 4 - Traffic Police Department, Hanoi City Police has just coordinated with the Police and Steering Committee 197 of Van Mieu - Quoc Tu Giam Ward to inspect and handle violations of the railway traffic safety corridor in the area of the Kham Thien - Le Duan train lane.

According to the authorities, there are currently about 30 households selling soft drinks and coffee in the Kham Thien - Le Duan train lane area.

In recent years, due to the large number of tourists and visitors coming to take photos and visit, many households have expanded their business activities, placed tables, chairs, roofs, and sleepers encroaching on railway traffic safety corridors, posing a great risk of insecurity when trains run through.

Faced with the above situation, the Traffic Police and Steering Committee 197 of Van Mieu - Quoc Tu Giam Ward have repeatedly coordinated to inspect and strictly handle violations.

However, at the end of the year, tourism activities and "coffic boat" sightseeing tend to increase, leading to a risk of re-encroachment on the corridor.

Recently, interdisciplinary forces have conducted a review of the entire route from the first lane of the railway to the area of lane 224 Le Duan.

Here, the working group requested the dismantling and demolition of many barriers, spontaneous entrances and exits, roofs, spans and items encroaching on the railway safety corridor of railway cafes. The above violations pose a high risk of causing insecurity for people and trains when traveling through the area.

"The handling is to ensure absolute safety for the railway line passing through densely populated areas. During the working process, the unit has requested 30 water and coffee businesses here to write a commitment not to repeat the offense, strictly complying with regulations on railway safety corridors", said Major Nguyen Mau Trung - officer of Road Traffic Police Team No. 4.
