Hai Phong - Information from Cat Hai special zone, in Cat Ba there are currently more than 1,700 tourists, mainly domestic tourists, staying to avoid storm No. 4.

On the morning of August 22, in an exchange with Lao Dong Newspaper, Mr. Pham Tri Tuyen - Head of the Culture - Society Department of Cat Hai Special Zone said that currently, Cat Ba still has 1,705 tourists, of which more than 250 are foreign tourists, and the rest are domestic tourists.

Local authorities request not to organize crowded programs and events in coastal areas, on islands, piers, and ports. People and tourists should absolutely not arbitrarily go to beach areas, ports, aquaculture areas, cages... to visit, take photos or catch seafood.

The special zone government has assigned the Police, Military Command, Border Guard Stations and Bay Management Boards of Cat Ba archipelago to strengthen inspection, resolutely preventing people and tourists from arbitrarily operating in dangerous areas.

On the same day, the Trade Union of Cat Hai Special Zone also announced the temporary postponement of organizing the "Healthy and Beautiful Footsteps - Connecting Cat Ba Heritage" race in 2026 (expected to take place on August 23) to deploy storm prevention and control activities No. 4.

Previously, on August 21, the Department of Construction announced the suspension of Dong Bai - Cai Vieng ferry and Duong Ao ferry operations to prevent storm No. 4. The suspension time is from 7 am on August 22 until there is final news about storm No. 4.
