On March 6, Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee issued a document directing the Provincial Department of Agriculture and Environment to preside over and coordinate with Ia Puch Commune People's Committee and relevant departments, branches, and units to inspect and handle the 2,000 m2 deforestation case that occurred in the border area of Ia Puch commune. Request to report the results to the Provincial People's Committee before March 15, 2026.
Regarding this case, the Gia Lai Provincial Forest Protection Department has issued an official dispatch requesting the Chu Prong Regional Forest Protection Department to coordinate with relevant units to inspect the scene; verify the extent of violations, and the subjects who committed illegal forest destruction acts occurring at lot 7, plot 2, sub-zone 930, belonging to the Ia Puch Protection Forest Management Board forest area.
According to the Ia Puch Protection Forest Management Board (Ia Puch commune, Gia Lai province), from the end of February 2026, functional forces discovered that the above location had more than 2,000 m2 of natural forest destroyed.
On this area there are nearly 40 felled trees, about 12–40 cm in diameter, mainly kơ nia, trâm and some other native trees.
After discovering the incident, the Ia Puch Protection Forest Management Board coordinated with the Commune Police to make a record, measure the scene and search for the suspect. However, so far, functional agencies have not identified the individual or group of people who committed the act of deforestation.
