Ms. Le Thi Thuy elected President of the Vietnam Women's Union

With 100% of the votes of confidence, Ms. Le Thi Thuy was elected to hold the position of President of the Vietnam Women's Union for the term 2022-2027.

On the afternoon of March 6, the Vietnam Women's Union (VWU) organized the 16th Conference of the 13th Central Executive Committee of the Union to consolidate the personnel of the Executive Committee, Presidium and President of the Vietnam Women's Union for the 2022-2027 term.

Attending the conference were: Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the Government Party Committee, former Chairman of the Vietnam Women's Union Nguyen Thi Tuyen; Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the Fatherland Front, Central Agencies Tran Thang; Member of the Party Central Committee, Member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee of the Fatherland Front, Central Agencies, Secretary of the Party Committee of the Vietnam Women's Union Central Committee Le Thi Thuy; and 88/125 comrades in the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Women's Union term XIII.

The Conference conducted additional elections of Executive Committee members, Presidium members, and elected the President of the Vietnam Women's Union.

As a result, 100% of the Executive Committee members present at the Conference elected Ms. Le Thi Thuy, Member of the Party Central Committee, Member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee of the Fatherland Front, Central Agencies, Secretary of the Party Committee of the Vietnam Women's Union Central Committee, as Member of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Women's Union Central Committee, Member of the Presidium of the Vietnam Women's Union Central Committee, to hold the position of President of the Vietnam Women's Union for the 2022-2027 term.

Speaking to receive the assignment, the new Chairman of the Vietnam Women's Union Le Thi Thuy deeply realized that this is a great honor but also accompanied by heavy responsibility before the women's movement and the expectations of members across the country.

Before the Executive Committee, Chairwoman Le Thi Thuy affirmed that she will try her best, uphold the pioneering and exemplary spirit and maintain the principles of the Party to continue the achievements that previous generations have painstakingly nurtured.

The top goal of the new Chairman is to continue to innovate the content and methods of operation with the Central Committee of the Vietnam Women's Union, strongly focusing on the grassroots level so that women's voices truly become an important part of the country's socio-political life.

One of the key tasks that the new Chairman of the Vietnam Women's Union Le Thi Thuy emphasized is the successful implementation of the goals set out in the Resolution of the 13th National Women's Congress, contributing to the implementation of the Resolution of the 14th Party Congress.

At the Conference, the Executive Committee also said goodbye to Ms. Nguyen Thi Tuyen, former Secretary of the Party Committee of the Central Vietnam Women's Union, former Chairwoman of the Vietnam Women's Union, who was transferred and assigned to hold the position of Deputy Secretary of the Government Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term.

Speaking at the conference, Deputy Secretary of the Government Party Committee Nguyen Thi Tuyen respectfully congratulated the new Chairman of the Vietnam Women's Union Le Thi Thuy on receiving the trust of the Politburo, the Secretariat, Party and State leaders and the very high trust of the Central Executive Committee of the Vietnam Women's Union.

Looking back at the journey of attachment to the Vietnam Women's Union, Ms. Nguyen Thi Tuyen affirmed that although the time is not too long, it contains many memories and breakthroughs in arranging the organizational apparatus according to the conclusions of the Central Government.

Former Chairwoman of the Vietnam Women's Union Nguyen Thi Tuyen believes that with her extensive experience, the new Chairwoman of the Vietnam Women's Union Le Thi Thuy will continue to steer the Vietnamese women's boat to overcome new challenges, especially the preparation for the 14th National Women's Congress and the amendment of the Union's charter to be consistent with the new regulations of the Party; realize the goals for the progress of Vietnamese women with determination and spirit of innovation.
