On December 25, information from the Traffic Police Department of Lang Son Province Police said that the unit had just discovered and handled a case of transporting food of unknown origin in large quantities.
Previously, at 2:00 p.m. on December 23, the working group of Road Traffic Police Team No. 1 under the Traffic Police Department of Lang Son Provincial Police was on patrol and controlling to ensure traffic order and safety at Km21+750, National Highway 1, in Na Soong village, Yen Trach commune, Cao Loc district, when they discovered a truck with license plate 29H-402.84 moving in the direction of Hanoi - Dong Dang with suspicious signs of transporting goods of unknown origin.
Through inspection, the authorities determined that the vehicle was driven by Mr. Truong Van Luy (born in 1984, residing in Me Linh district, Hanoi).
The vehicle was carrying two items, including duck feet and beef intestines that had been pre-processed and frozen, with a total weight of more than 2.7 tons. However, the driver could not present invoices or documents proving the origin of the goods.
The working group handed over the people, exhibits and vehicles to Market Management Team No. 6 for further verification.
During the investigation, the owner was only able to provide an invoice for the duck feet. The remaining goods were beef intestines, contained in 113 pineapple sacks with a total weight of more than 2.2 tons, without invoices, documents, certificates of origin or quarantine as required. Worryingly, these beef intestines were leaking water and gave off a strong foul odor.
Market Management Team No. 6 has temporarily detained the vehicle and all evidence of violations for handling according to legal regulations.
