On the morning of September 30, the People's Committee of Bac Trach commune (Quang Tri province) said that local people had just discovered 2 bodies drifting ashore, suspected to be those of missing crew members in the fishing boat sinking on September 29.
According to the Quang Tri Border Guard, at around 6am the same day, 1 body was discovered on the coast of Thanh Hai village, about 200m southeast of Lang Ong; the remaining body drifted ashore in Tien Phong village, about 3km from Lang Ong.
Immediately after receiving the report, the Border Guard sent 4 officers led by the Investigation Team Leader to coordinate with the Bac Trach Commune Police to protect the scene, and at the same time notified the PC09 Department of the Provincial Police and relevant agencies to conduct legal procedures and verify the victim's identity.
Currently, the authorities are continuing to mobilize ships and expand the search area for the missing crew members. The weather at sea this morning has reduced the waves, creating more favorable conditions for rescue work.
Previously, as reported by Lao Dong Newspaper, at 11:30 p.m. on September 28, two fishing vessels BV-92756-TS and BV-92754-TS with 13 crew members anchored on the North shore, Xuan Loc residential group, Bac Gianh ward, had their anchor broken, drifted freely and had an accident. 4 crew members swam to shore safely, the remaining 9 people are currently missing.
Currently, the salvage of the BV-92754-TS ship is being urgently carried out, while the rescue force continues to expand the search area for the missing crew members.
