About rain
It is forecasted that from the evening of September 29-30, in Son La, Phu Tho and Lao Cai provinces, there will be rain of 70-150mm, locally over 250mm; other places in the North and Thanh Hoa will have moderate rain of 50-100mm, locally over 200mm.
About floods
From September 29 to October 1, floods on rivers from Thanh Hoa to Ha Tinh will continue to rise. Flood peak on Buoi River, upstream of Ma River, Chu River, Ca River, Ngan Sau River, Ngan Pho River and small rivers will rise to alert level 2 to alert level 3 (BD2-BD3) and above BD3; flood peak at Hoa Binh Lake, Thao River, Hoang Long River, downstream of rivers: Chu, Ma, Ca, La and Gianh River will rise to level BD1-BD2 and above BD2.
Damage caused by storm No. 10 and floods, landslides, and thunderstorms
According to initial reports from the provinces and cities of Lao Cai, Son La, Phu Tho, Tuyen Quang, Lang Son, Cao Bang, Thai Nguyen, Quang Ninh, Hai Phong, Hung Yen, Ninh Binh, Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Ha Tinh, Quang Tri, Hue, Da Nang, as of 7:00 p.m. on September 29, storm No. 10 and floods, landslides, and thunderstorms have caused the following damage:
- Regarding people: 19 deaths (1 person due to landslide in Son La; 1 person due to landslide in Lang Son; 2 people due to thunderstorms and tornadoes in Hung Yen; 9 people in Ninh Binh due to thunderstorms and tornadoes; 1 person drowned; 1 person was swept away by water in Hue; 2 people in Thanh Hoa due to fallen trees and collapsed their houses; 1 person in Ha Tinh fell while repairing a house; 1 person died because the body of a person swept away by flood was found;
