On May 13, news from Cam Ranh Ward Police said that the unit had supported people to hand over the flower iguana individual for continued care and handling according to regulations.
Previously, people traveling on Le Duan street, Cam Ranh ward, suddenly discovered a flower iguana appearing in the middle of the road.
The first person to discover the incident was Mr. Le Hoang Gia Vuong (born in 2003, residing in Binh Lap village, Nam Cam Ranh commune).
After discovering the wild animal individual, Mr. Vuong quickly contacted the Ward Police for support in handling it.
According to functional agencies, the scallop is a wild animal belonging to Group IIB - a group of endangered, precious, and rare animals prioritized for protection by Vietnamese law. The acts of hunting, keeping, and illegally trading this animal are all handled according to legal regulations.
Immediately after receiving the report, the Ward Police coordinated with the People's Committee of Cam Ranh Ward to support Mr. Vuong in handing over the monitor lizard individual for continued care and handling according to regulations.
The incident was assessed by many as a beautiful action, contributing to raising awareness of wildlife protection in the community.
