An Giang - Artifacts discovered at grave number 20, row 05, zone 1C, at Hon Dat Martyrs' Cemetery.

During the process of taking biological samples for DNA testing at Hon Dat Martyrs' Cemetery, DNA Sampling Team No. 4, Steering Committee 515 of An Giang province discovered many relatively intact artifacts in a tomb, including rubber sandals, metal necklaces, buttons and some other items.

The artifacts were discovered at grave number 20, row 05, area 1C. According to records at the scene, the task force found 1 pair of rubber sandals, 1 metal chain, 1 metal tweezer, 3 buttons and 1 bone fragment about 6cm long.

Notably, the pair of black rubber sandals still retains a fairly clear shape, including the sole and straps. The small metal beaded necklace is also relatively intact. Three buttons are small in size, dark in color. These are characteristics that can help relatives and comrades recognize or remember the items that the martyr used to use.

Immediately after the discovery, officers of DNA sampling team No. 4 proceeded to record, classify, and preserve artifacts attached to the grave location, and at the same time carried out biological sampling steps according to regulations. The artifacts will be a source of supplementary information in the process of reviewing dossiers, comparing and verifying the identity of martyrs' remains.

Steering Committee 515 of An Giang province hopes that relatives of martyrs, veterans, comrades and people who fought and worked in Hon Dat area will pay attention and share images of artifacts. If they find a pair of sandals, a necklace, buttons or the above characteristics related to relatives and comrades buried or gathered at Hon Dat Martyrs' Cemetery, especially at grave number 20, row 05, area 1C, please provide information for functional agencies to check and compare.

For all related information, please contact the Steering Committee 515 of An Giang province via phone number: 0976 222 525.
