On June 23, the MAG bomb and mine advisory group in Vietnam said that they had just handled a non-explosive artillery shell discovered on the ground near a cemetery in Sen Ngu commune, Quang Tri province.
The bullet was discovered by Mr. Dong, a local resident. He immediately reported it to the military force to ensure safety.
After that, the MAG technical team deployed to collect and handle explosives safely. Mr. Dong said that luckily the MAG team arrived in time. People often pass through this way, if encountered, the consequences could be very dangerous.
MAG (Mines Advisory Group) is an international non-governmental organization engaged in humanitarian activities to search, clear and destroy mines, cluster bombs and unexploded ordnance. MAG has been present in Vietnam since 1999, highly concentrated in central provinces such as Quang Tri.
