On May 7, Bao An Ward Police said that Mr. Tran Van Triem (65 years old), residing in residential group 11, Bao An ward, proactively reported after discovering a large python individual appearing in the premises of his house.
Upon receiving the report, an inter-sectoral working group including Bao An Ward People's Committee, Bao An Ward Police and Ninh Hai - Thuan Bac Forest Protection Department came to the scene to inspect and verify.
Through identification, the above individual is a python (Python molurus), belonging to group IIB - endangered and rare forest animals managed according to legal regulations and the CITES Convention.
Currently, the python individual has been handed over to the forest ranger agency for care, conservation and release back to the natural environment according to regulations.
Bao An Ward Police recommends that when people discover rare and precious wild animals, they should promptly notify the functional agencies.
People should not arbitrarily hunt, farm, buy, sell or transport illegally to contribute to protecting biodiversity and the natural environment.
