On October 15, a source from Lao Dong Newspaper said that the Dak Lak Provincial People's Committee held a meeting to review the operation of the Central Highlands General Hospital.
Previously, on October 3, Mr. Nguyen Dang Giap, Director of the Central Highlands General Hospital, was prosecuted and temporarily detained to investigate the irresponsible behavior causing serious consequences related to the broken stone factory but still declared stonecutting for 255 patients.
On October 4, the Dak Lak Department of Health assigned Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Thinh, Deputy Director of the Central Highlands General Hospital, to temporarily run the hospital to ensure the work is maintained while waiting for instructions from competent authorities.
However, on October 8, Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Thinh submitted a request not to take the hospital's responsibility to focus on professional work.
In this situation, the Department of Health has submitted a document to the Provincial People's Committee requesting consideration and approval of the policy of assigning other personnel to be in charge of the hospital.
After reviewing, the collective leadership of the Department of Health proposed that Mr. Nguyen Huu Vu Quang, Deputy Director of the Department of Health, be the most suitable personnel to temporarily take charge of the Central Highlands General Hospital.
However, according to Decree 150 of the Government, "Deputy directors of departments do not concurrently hold the position of heads of organizations and units under or directly under the department, unless otherwise provided by law". Therefore, the Dak Lak Department of Health believes that, in the context of the very difficult human resources in the health sector, temporarily assigning Mr. Quang to be in charge of the hospital is a necessary and appropriate solution, in order to ensure stable organization and maintenance of professional and technical activities of the unit.
