On September 24, Phu Tho Department of Health organized a conference to promote the socialization of the "Aid and Care for Orphans" network in Lam Thao commune, with the participation of 150 collaborators from villages and hamlets.
At the conference, delegates focused on exchanging solutions to build a network to support orphans, focusing on alternative care at home and mobilizing social resources.
Ms. Hoang Kien Giang - Deputy Head of the Social Protection and Social Evil Prevention Department, Phu Tho Department of Health said that the whole province currently has 1,023,465 children under 16 years old, accounting for about 25.35% of the population.
Among these is a group of orphaned children, lacking care from their father or mother, and facing difficulties in material and spiritual conditions.
Supporting this childcare group is placed within the requirements of ensuring children's rights, creating conditions for them to access the necessary services.
According to the Department of Health, budget resources and public services need to be combined with community participation to expand support for orphans.
The construction of the "Aid and Care for Orphans" network aims to connect resources and increase support capacity in localities.
One of the contents mentioned is ensuring that orphans have access to services that meet their needs.
Areas of interest include healthcare, education, nutrition and psychological support.
In addition, the conference identified home replacement care as a direction that needs to be prioritized.
Orphans can be cared for by relatives, non-relatives or adopted according to legal regulations.
To make this form of care effective, families need to be guided on procedures, care skills and necessary conditions in the process of raising children.
The choice of care form must be appropriate to the circumstances and needs of each case.
Along with home solutions, the mobilization of the participation of local authorities, unions and the community is also being raised.
Localities can implement appropriate support activities, including models of sponsoring orphaned children.
