International economic integration
According to a report by the Phu Tho Provincial People's Committee, import and export activities in the past time maintained a high rate. Export turnover in the first 7 months reached 31.53 billion USD, an increase of 39.7% and equal to 79.8% of the year plan. Import turnover reached 41.9 billion USD, an increase of 65.2%.
Foreign investment attraction continues to be a bright spot. Total registered FDI capital by the end of July reached more than 1.9 billion USD. This figure is 2.6 times higher than the same period and 18.9% higher than the annual plan. At the same time, more than 3,000 new businesses were established and 730 businesses returned to operation.
The above results show that Phu Tho's economy is increasingly deeply linked to the international market. In 2025, the province's export turnover reached about 36.8 billion USD. In 2026, the Ministry of Industry and Trade set a target of 39.5 billion USD. With the achieved results, this goal has many advantages to be completed.
However, current integration poses higher requirements. Goods that want to enter large markets must meet many standards.
These are traceability, environment, carbon emissions, labor safety and social responsibility. Businesses must also be more transparent in management and supply chains.
This forces the economy to shift from growth based on cost advantages to competition by quality, technology and productivity.
Phu Tho is gradually adapting to this requirement. The province prioritizes attracting high-tech, electronics, semiconductor, supporting industry, precision mechanics, medical equipment, new materials, logistics and clean energy projects.
In early August 2026, the province worked with a Brazilian business delegation to explore investment opportunities in the field of electronics and semiconductors.
This activity shows that investment promotion is shifting towards a more selective direction. The goal is not only to increase investment capital, but also to aim for new technologies, high added value and the ability to link with businesses in the province.
Along with that, Phu Tho focuses on completing infrastructure for industrial parks, clusters, transportation and logistics. Clean land funds are also being prepared to meet the needs of investors.
Deepening
Integration not only creates figures on capital, exports or industrial production. The greater value lies in the ability to improve the quality of development.
Therefore, Phu Tho is expanding integration to the fields of culture, tourism, education, health and human resources.
Culture is identified as an important resource. Phu Tho has a special advantage in history and identity. That is Hung Temple, Hung Kings worship beliefs, Xoan singing and a rich system of cultural heritage.
Through cultural diplomacy, these values are introduced more widely to international friends. This is both a way to promote the local image and create more attraction for tourism and investment.
Along with culture is human resources. More than 13,000 Phu Tho people studying, working and living abroad are an important bridge with the world.
The province maintains relations with hometown associations and Vietnamese communities in many countries. Activities such as Xuan Dat To, Vietnam Summer Camp, welcoming overseas Vietnamese to offer incense to Hung Kings or promoting OCOP products contribute to maintaining attachment to the homeland.
Overseas Vietnamese also bring resources of knowledge, experience and international relations networks. These are values that need to be promoted in the integration process.
These tasks show that integration must be associated with social responsibility. An integrated locality not only needs economic capacity, but also needs to build a professional, transparent and humane government image.
In the coming time, Phu Tho will continue to place integration in the overall development strategy. The government creates a favorable environment.
Businesses innovate technology and improve product quality. Training institutions focus on developing human resources suitable to new needs. Culture becomes a soft resource. People are the center of the development process.
From those foundations, Phu Tho is gradually forming a deep integration model. Economic expansion of the market. Technology to improve productivity. Culture creates identity. People create endogenous strength.
That is also the foundation for the Ancestral Land region to improve competitiveness, proactively connect with the world and create momentum for a faster and more sustainable development stage.
