On the afternoon of August 13, leaders of Da Huoai 3 commune and local authorities conducted a survey and inspection of the hill at high risk of landslides in Village 1 (Da Huoai 3 commune).
Through inspection by local authorities and authorities, it can be seen that this hill is about 80 meters high and more than 2 hectares wide. Due to prolonged heavy rain, the hill was torn into a deep ditch running from the top of the hill to the home area of many households.

Many landslides have occurred on this hill, causing soil from the top of the hill to overflow below. In particular, subsidence occurred throughout the hill, with many cracks in the crow's feet ranging from 0.5 to 1 meter in depth and extending in many different locations. This situation puts this hill at risk of landslides at any time when there is heavy rain. Below the hill, there are 10 households, with 34 people living in fear and insecurity.
Mr. Dinh Huu Tinh, a household living at the foot of this hill, worried: "In the rainy season of 2024, this hill has experienced landslides, but at a mild level. However, last night, the heavy and prolonged rain caused the hill behind our house to be torn.
All night long, all households here were afraid that the hill would collapse, so no one dared to sleep. We all know it is very dangerous, but all our houses and assets are here, so we don't know what to do."
Sharing the same concern, Mr. Dinh Thanh Du said: "My family has 5 members, the house was built a few years ago. We know it is dangerous, but all our belongings are here, so we just pray for peace to live and do business. Now the whole family has to stay and be on guard when there is heavy rain to proactively move to ensure the safety of their lives. If we move, the whole family doesn't know where to go."

Mr. Nguyen Van Trinh, Chairman of the People's Committee of Da Huoai 3 commune, said: "Through inspection, the risk of the hill collapsing when heavy rain continues to occur is very high. Local authorities have mobilized households to evacuate to ensure safety. However, it is no longer raining, so households have proactively asked to stay and signed a commitment to voluntarily relocate when heavy rain occurs.
The locality has determined that people's lives are always given top priority, so in the long term, the local government will work with households to find a way to relocate out of the danger zone."
According to Mr. Trinh, the People's Committee of Da Huoai 3 commune has arranged a standing force here to promptly warn and support people in all situations, especially when there is heavy rain.
