On October 7, the People's Committee of Quang Ngai City informed that to ensure safety in the exploitation and use of Tra Khuc 1 bridge during the rainy and stormy season, the Chairman of the City People's Committee announced: When the flood water level at Tra Khuc hydrological station reaches alert level 2 to below alert level 3 (water level from 5m to below 6.5m), vehicles and traffic participants should prioritize using routes passing through Thach Bich bridge and Tra Khuc 2 bridge to circulate, limiting the use of Tra Khuc 1 bridge to ensure traffic safety.
When the flood level at Tra Khuc hydrological station reaches alert level 3 (rising 6.5m), Tra Khuc 1 bridge will temporarily stop operating.
Tra Khuc 1 Bridge was built 60 years ago, connecting the northern gateway to the center of Quang Ngai City. The bridge is 643m long, built with a composite steel girder structure, and the width of the roadway is only 7.5m. The bridge is now seriously degraded, especially the broken concrete pile foundation system, exposing the iron core, posing a danger to road users.
