Quang Ngai - Hoai Nhon Expressway is one of 12 component projects of the North - South Expressway that started construction in early 2023. The project has a total investment of more than VND 20,400 billion, with a length of 88km, of which the section through Quang Ngai province is 60.3km long, and the section through Binh Dinh province is 27.7km long. The project is invested by Project Management Board 2 (Ministry of Transport), the construction contractor is led by the Deo Ca Group consortium.
According to the reporter, Quang Ngai is currently in the rainy season, however, contractors are still mobilizing human resources and machinery to speed up the construction of tunnel items. Talking to the reporter, a representative of Deo Ca Group said that up to now, the entire project has mobilized 3,716 personnel along with 1,445 machines and equipment, implementing the construction of "3 shifts and 4 crews" on the entire route. Particularly for the tunnel item, workers and engineers take turns working 24/7.
Currently, 77/77 bridges are under construction. Of which, the largest bridge on the route, Song Ve Bridge, has completed the installation of girders and bridge deck. Tunnel 1 and Tunnel 2 have basically completed the construction and installation, and are currently installing equipment in the tunnel and completing the operation house. As for Tunnel 3 (3,200m long), the left tunnel has been dug 1,990m, the right tunnel has been dug 2,200m, and the tunnel is expected to be cleared before April 30, 2025.
Speaking to reporters, Mr. Hoang Dinh Thinh - Head of the Northern Command of Tunnel No. 3 (Deo Ca Group) said: "We are increasing personnel and equipment, as well as encouraging engineers and workers to work 24/7 to ensure the set progress."
According to the representative of Deo Ca Group, the plan is that by the end of 2024, the project will complete about 61% of the total contract volume. Completing tunnel No. 1 and tunnel No. 2 (including tunnel lining concrete, roadbed and equipment installed in the tunnel), completing 63/77 bridges, and simultaneously deploying asphalt concrete paving on all 3 packages XL1, XL2 and XL3.

The province determined that the implementation of this peak emulation period aims to promote the strength of the entire political system, relevant agencies, organizations and individuals in the organization and implementation of construction works, items, site clearance... to focus on the peak to successfully implement the goal of "completing 3,000 km of expressways before December 31, 2025".
Talking to reporters, Mr. Nguyen Dang Vinh - Chairman of Tu Nghia District People's Committee confided that during the construction of Quang Ngai - Hoai Nhon expressway, if the contractor needs coordination with local authorities, the district will always accompany the contractor and the people, focusing on directing the removal of obstacles.
In order for the Quang Ngai - Hoai Nhon expressway project to be implemented most smoothly, the provincial People's Committee leaders requested that departments, branches, districts, and communes where the project passes through be proactive and creative in resolving difficulties and problems related to site clearance and resettlement support...
Speaking to reporters, Mr. Tran Phuoc Hien - Vice Chairman of Quang Ngai Provincial People's Committee expressed that Quang Ngai is very pleased to fulfill its commitment to the Government in ensuring the site, as well as proactively sourcing materials to construct the Quang Ngai - Hoai Nhon expressway, contributing to the project's completion on schedule.
