According to the Quang Ngai Province Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board, for the sub-project of compensation, support, and resettlement of the Quang Ngai - Hoai Nhon component project, the section through Quang Ngai province has now completed site clearance and handed over 60.3/60.3 km, reaching 100% of the route length through the province.
Regarding the 3 locations that are still stuck with land clearance in Mo Duc district (1 location) and Duc Pho town (2 locations), up to now, 1/3 of the location (North gate of tunnel No. 1, Duc Pho town) has been completely resolved; the remaining 2 locations include:
Mo Duc District: 1 location at the DH.41B overpass (Km31+480)
Duc Pho Town: 1 location at the DH.46 overpass (Km42+922)
For 7 locations where households obstructed and did not allow construction, 5.7 locations have been resolved; the remaining 2 locations include:
1 location in Nghia Hanh district, at Km8+500 - Km8+700, Mr. Ngo Van Su's household (Hanh Dung commune) again obstructed on May 28 and 29, 2025
1 location in Mo Duc district at Km26+450, on the M1 abutment of DH.38-1 bridge, including 6 plots of land.
A representative of the Quang Ngai Provincial Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board requested the Provincial Police to pay attention and support forces to ensure security and order in the area of Km8+500 - Km8+700, according to the proposal of the People's Committee of Nghia Hanh district in Official Dispatch No. 1004/UBND dated May 29, 2025.
On June 24, the Standing Committee of the Quang Ngai Provincial Party Committee held the 20th Provincial Party Executive Committee Conference, term XX, to disseminate the conclusions of the Politburo; assess the implementation of tasks for the first 6 months of the year and deploy tasks for the last 6 months of the year; and at the same time organize questions and answers.
At the conference, Ms. Bui Thi Quynh Van - Secretary of the Quang Ngai Provincial Party Committee - suggested that localities focus on compensation and site clearance for key projects, national urgent projects, and projects with spillover effects. The province must completely complete the existing problems related to the Quang Ngai - Hoai Nhon expressway before June 30.
Quang Ngai - Hoai Nhon Expressway belongs to the North - South Expressway Construction Project in the East, phase 2021 - 2025. The project has a total investment of more than VND 20,400 billion, with a length of 88 km, of which the section passing through Quang Ngai province is 60.3 km long, and the section passing through Binh Dinh province is 27.7 km long. Phase 1 is divided into investment phases with a scale of 4 lanes, designed speed of 80 km/h. The project is invested by Project Management Board 2 (Ministry of Transport), the contractor is the consortium of Deo Ca Group.
The Quang Ngai - Hoai Nhon section is one of the most difficult sections on the North - South expressway with 3 tunnels across the mountain, including a special tunnel on the Km60 route, with a length of 3,200 meters. The construction period of the bridge and road part is 34 months and the tunnel part is 42 months, expected to complete the entire route in the second quarter of 2026.
