In 2025, according to the plan, Quang Ninh province will replant 77,000 hectares of planted forests that were damaged by Typhoon Yagi, 50-100% of the area, a 6-fold increase compared to previous years. To ensure the set target, the forestry sector is preparing the necessary conditions for the upcoming forest planting season.
Mr. Vu Duy Van - Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Quang Ninh - said: After storm Yagi, under the direction of the People's Committee of Quang Ninh province, departments and branches coordinated with localities to implement measures to quickly restore production for people. However, due to the large area of damaged forest, the inspection and public listing process took time, leading to a delay in payment of support to people.
To ensure the spring-summer forest planting season in 2025, the preparation of seed sources is very urgent and important. The Department has requested localities to focus on producing seedlings and finding seed sources. According to preliminary calculations, seedlings will be guaranteed for new forest planting in 2025.
