According to information from the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, at 1:50 p.m. today (September 14), the third aid shipment from the ASEAN Coordinating Centre for Humanitarian Assistance on Disaster Management (AHA) to support local people affected by storms and floods has arrived at Noi Bai International Airport.
It is expected that tonight, representatives of the Department of Dyke Management and Disaster Prevention and Control will present support goods from the AHA Center to Lao Cai province.
Accordingly, the ASEAN Coordinating Centre for Humanitarian Assistance on Disaster Management supported household kits, home repair kits, kitchen kits, and personal hygiene kits with a total value of 254,091.74 USD (equivalent to 6,238.6 million VND) to transfer to Yen Bai and Lao Cai provinces.
Previously, two shipments of the ASEAN Disaster Emergency Logistics System coordinated by the ASEAN Coordinating Centre for Humanitarian Assistance with a weight of 21.8 tons including household kits, kitchen sets, personal hygiene, home repair tools, etc. arrived at Noi Bai airport at 4:45 and 14:15 on September 13, 2024. The ASEAN Coordinating Centre for Humanitarian Assistance handed over to the Department of Dyke Management and Disaster Prevention and Control.
On the evening of September 13, Deputy Director of the Department of Dyke Management and Natural Disaster Prevention Nguyen Van Tien - representing the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development - presented support goods to Vice Chairwoman of Yen Bai Provincial People's Committee Vu Thi Hien Hanh and departments, branches and sectors of the province.
In addition, the Australian Government also supported 264 personal hygiene kits, 120 kitchen kits, 264 home repair kits, 600 blankets, 600 sleeping mats, 522 tarpaulins, and 360 mosquito nets for local people affected by storms and floods on the evening of September 11. Immediately after receiving the support goods from the Australian Government, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development delivered these goods directly to Yen Bai to promptly support people to overcome difficulties and soon stabilize their lives.
