Many people living in Long Bien district (Hanoi) are no longer unfamiliar with the project to build a road connecting Nguyen Van Cu street to the end of the resettlement area of Ngoc Thuy ward because it is "famous" for taking a long time.
The project started in 2018 with a total investment of 1,200 billion VND, invested by Long Bien District People's Committee. Of which, more than half is for site clearance and resettlement support.
Long Bien District plans to complete the 1.5km long, 40m wide, 6-lane road by 2020. However, due to some problems, especially in site clearance, the project is behind schedule.
According to Lao Dong, after 6 years of construction, the main sections of the route have been basically completed, and people can now travel from the Nguyen Van Cu - Hong Tien intersection to the Ngoc Thuy intersection and vice versa.
Currently, the main work at the construction site is to complete the paving of the sidewalk at Tai Voi Lake and the end of the route at the intersection with Ngoc Thuy Street.
The highlight of the route is the steel overpass at the Hong Tien - Nguyen Van Cu intersection, which has basically completed items such as asphalt surface, installation of railing system, lighting...
The project is about 400m long and has access roads, designed with 2 lanes for motor vehicles and 2 lanes for mixed vehicles. Currently, the bridge is blocked at both ends, and vehicles are not allowed to pass.
According to the Long Bien District Construction Investment Project Management Board, the problem of site clearance has been resolved.
At the construction site, the construction unit is completing the remaining items to bring the project to the finish line on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the Capital Liberation Day (October 10).
