In recent days, some areas in the North of Ho Chi Minh City have recorded red-tailed green pit vipers appearing near people's houses, especially after heavy rains. Some snakes crawl across the road, some appear right in front of houses, causing people to worry.
On September 12, a red-tailed green pit viper appeared near a resident's house on D13 street, group 1, Tay Hoa neighborhood, Thoi Hoa ward. The green pit viper weighing more than 0.5 kg tended to invade the front of households' houses. This area has many children playing. Fortunately, a resident promptly discovered and beat this snake to death.
The very large green snake crawled from the vacant land with dense trees towards people's houses, making us very worried. Recently, there have been 3 snakes crawling in front of houses on D13 road" - Mr. H.N said.
Previously, on N10 street, a red-tailed green pit viper (weighing about 0.3 kg) crawled right in front of a resident's house in the evening. Fortunately, the homeowner when going out discovered the snake.

On Tan Dinh 04 street (near Ba Xom Ben Temple, Hoa Loi ward), people also discovered a red-tailed green pit viper (nearly 0.3 kg). At the time of discovery, the snake crawled across the road. When chased away by people, the snake crawled into a green bush.
According to records, in areas where red-tailed green pit vipers are detected, around dense trees, people are still sparse. People said that they have seen red-tailed green pit vipers many times. However, snakes often crawl in front of houses with a higher frequency after heavy rains.
According to people knowledgeable about snakes, red-tailed green-tailed snakes are a species of snake with deadly venom. In the rainy season, when flooded, snakes often crawl out of their shelters to go hunting or find new dry shelters. Besides, the rainy season is also the breeding season of this green-tailed snake, so they often move to find breeding grounds.
To limit snakes from crawling into the house, people can prevent it by clearing bushes, cleaning areas that have been stored for a long time, and checking locations where snakes can crawl in.
