On August 12, the leader of the People's Committee of Nhon Chau commune (Gia Lai province) said that some baby turtles had just been born on the local beach, attracting people to watch. Many people were delighted to witness the moment the baby turtle emerged from the sand after many years of absence here.
According to the leader of Nhon Chau Commune People's Committee, more than a month ago, people discovered traces of mother turtles crawling onto the sand, suspected of laying eggs, but the location of the egg lure has not been determined. On the evening of August 11, a sea turtle walking around the sea caught a baby turtle just blooming and crawling out to sea, so he reported it to the local authorities.

That same night, the People's Committee of the commune sent forces to check, identified the egg lure and recorded 12 baby turtles having bloomed. All of these turtles were protected by officers and people and released into the sea safely.
"It's been a long time since people have seen baby turtles bloom right at Nhon Chau beach. This is a positive signal that the local marine ecosystem is improving. The commune will conduct zoning to create a nesting ground for turtles," said the leader of Nhon Chau Commune People's Committee.
Nhon Chau (Cu Lao Xanh) is located about 24km east of the mainland, with an area of about 365 hectares, mainly hills and beaches. This island commune holds an important position in the strategy of developing the marine economy and protecting the sovereignty of the sea and islands of Gia Lai province.
