Noi Bai International Airport is expected to serve more than 125,000 passengers on the peak day of National Day holiday September 2, an increase of 33% compared to the same period in 2025. The unit is implementing synchronous solutions on infrastructure, human resources and technology to limit congestion and ensure safe and smooth passenger service.
According to forecasts from Noi Bai International Airport, August 28th will be the peak day in this year's National Day holiday service. The airport is expected to serve more than 125,000 passengers, an increase of about 8% compared to normal days and 33% compared to the same period in 2025.

Take-off and landing volume on peak days is expected to reach 743 flights, an increase of 10% compared to normal and 18% compared to the same period last year.
During this peak period, the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam decided to increase the slot coordination parameter at Noi Bai International Airport from 42 to 44 slots/hour in the time frame from 6:00 AM to 11:55 PM. The adjustment is expected to create more room for airlines to increase flights, contributing to meeting the increasing travel demand during the holidays.
Faced with the forecast of a sharp increase in passenger and flight volume, Noi Bai International Airport has synchronously implemented solutions to ensure safety and smooth operation during service.
The airport coordinates with the Police of Noi Bai International Airport Border Gate to organize and regulate traffic flows to approach the terminal; flexibly adjust plans according to the actual situation and arrange appropriate parking areas.
At the terminal, the Port maximizes the capacity of check-in counters, aircraft exits and luggage conveyor systems; and at the same time increases support personnel at locations at risk of congestion.
The biometric system is prioritized to ensure stable operation. Technical forces are regularly deployed to promptly handle arising situations.
Along with that, the Port coordinates with the Border Gate Police to organize a separate entry and exit procedure area for Vietnamese citizens, a separate lane for foreign passengers and flight crews, contributing to shortening procedure time.
In operating operations, the Port continues to apply the A-CDM (Airport Collaborative Decision Making) model, in order to optimize operations, improve operational efficiency and punctuality.
Service providers at the airport are required to strictly comply with regulations, maintain service quality throughout the operating time, including early morning and late night flights; and at the same time ensure proper style and attitude of passenger service.
To reduce waiting time, passengers are advised to proactively complete procedures before the flight. Recommended forms include online check-in on the airline's website or application, using the VNeID electronic identification account, kiosk check-in and biometric kiosks at the terminal.
Passengers also need to carefully check necessary documents, regulations on luggage and lists of items prohibited or restricted from being brought on the plane before arriving at the airport.
During peak seasons, passengers should proactively calculate travel time and be present at the airport about 2 hours before departure time for domestic flights and 3 hours for international flights to have enough time to complete aviation procedures, security and customs checks.
