The construction of Thai Nguyen Stadium in Phuc Triu Commune (Thai Nguyen City) started in October 2022. After a few days of temporary interruption due to prolonged rain and flooding in mid-September 2024, construction activities at this key project are currently being accelerated.
Recorded on September 27, at the project, nearly 200 workers, engineers and many machines and equipment were mobilized to carry out construction items. After 2 years of construction, the main structure of the stadium, the rough part of 4 stands, has been basically completed.
Currently, the contractor is focusing on tasks such as installing railings, plastering, tiling, installing electrical lines and technical items around the stands. The roofs of the two main stands have not been installed yet.

Mr. Le Van Toan, a project worker, said that most of the construction items of the current stadium are outdoors, so the recent rain and flooding in Thai Nguyen also temporarily stopped construction for a few days.
"Some local workers also had to take time off to deal with flooding at home. Now the weather is sunny and the workers have returned, we are asked to speed up the work progress," said Mr. Toan.
According to information from the construction unit, up to now, the progress has reached more than 90% of the construction volume and strives to complete the construction of the shell in 2024.
This is one of the key projects of Thai Nguyen province with a total investment of more than 535 billion VND. When completed, it will be the largest stadium in the northern mountainous provinces.
The project is built on an area of nearly 16 hectares, with a capacity of 22,000 seats, with a modern roof, ensuring the area of an international standard football field. The Project Management Board for Investment and Construction of Civil and Industrial Works of Thai Nguyen province is the investor.
On September 27, speaking with reporters, Mr. Le Khuong Duy - Chairman of the People's Committee of Phuc Triu Commune said that the stadium construction project had not recorded any damage due to the recent historic flood. However, the prolonged rain and flood also affected the construction work.
"The stadium project is expected to develop tourism and services, create many jobs, and increase income for local people," Mr. Duy informed.
