Vice Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee Duong Duc Tuan has just signed and issued a decision approving the plan and location of National Highway 1, scale 1/500 (section from Ring Road 1 intersection - Kim Lien tunnel to Cau Gie intersection).
According to the decision, the location of National Highway 1 (from Kim Lien tunnel to Cau Gie intersection) passes through the wards and communes including Kim Lien, Bach Mai, Phuong Liet, Tuong Mai, Dinh Cong, Hoang Mai, Hoang Liet, Yen So, Dai Thanh, Thanh Tri, Ngoc Hoi, Thuong Tin, Hong Van, Thuong Phuc, Chuong Duong, Phu Xuyen, Chuyen My and Dai Xuyen (Hanoi).
The length of the route is about 36.3km with the starting point (point 1) at the intersection with Ring Road 1 (Kim Lien tunnel); the ending point (point 55) at the Cau Gie intersection (Dai Xuyen commune area).
The route direction is consistent with the Capital's transport planning, adjusting the general planning of Hanoi Capital approved and oriented in the overall planning of the Capital being studied.
At the same time, the basic route direction follows the existing road (the section through the Phu Xuyen station area is adjusted not to follow the current road to take advantage of the land of Phu Xuyen station after renovating the national railway line), according to Hanoi City.
Regarding grade, the above road is identified as urban-grade road (type of main urban road). The road has a cross-section scale of 90m, including the main road section with 10 lanes; service roads on both sides with 3 lanes each and median strips, side and sidewalk median strips on both sides.
Some sections along the above road will also be locally expanded to ensure traffic organization requirements and in accordance with the current situation.
After completion, the above road will form 11 main traffic intersections, connecting with key routes of the Capital such as Ring Road 1, 2, 2. 5, 3, 3. 5 and 4, Road 70, urban axis of the Olympic sports complex, Provincial Road 427 (Duong Truc Nguyen bridge area), Cau Gie intersection.
Intersections on National Highway 1, from Ring Road 1 - Kim Lien tunnel intersection to Cau Gie intersection, will be studied for off-level interconnection design to increase traffic capacity and reduce congestion.
