At the meeting of the Bac Lieu Provincial People's Council on the afternoon of February 20, delegates agreed on the proposal to assign the Bac Lieu Provincial People's Committee as the competent authority to implement the Ba Dinh Bridge Construction Project connecting Bac Lieu province with Kien Giang.
Ba Dinh Bridge across Cai Lon River starts at the center of Vinh Loc A Commune, Hong Dan District, Bac Lieu Province, and ends at the road along Cai Lon River in Vinh Thuan District, Kien Giang Province.
The bridge is 320m long, 15m wide, with a load capacity of more than 11 tons; the approach road to the bridge on the Bac Lieu side is 233m long, and on the Kien Giang side is 183m long; the total estimated investment is more than 434 billion VND from central and local capital sources. The project implementation period is 2025-2028.
According to the People's Committee of Bac Lieu province, the investment in the construction of Ba Dinh bridge will create an inter-regional traffic axis connecting effectively for traffic, goods transit, economic, cultural and social development, ensuring national defense and security of Bac Lieu and provinces in the Mekong Delta through the Ho Chi Minh route, Go Quao - Vinh Thuan section and the Can Tho - Ca Mau expressway.
