The Office of the Hanoi People's Committee has just issued a document announcing the Conclusion of Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee Duong Duc Tuan on the plan to build a road connecting Gia Binh airport (Bac Ninh province) with the capital Hanoi.
Accordingly, implementing the direction of the General Secretary of the Party Central Committee, the direction of the Prime Minister on the investment policy for the construction of a road connecting Gia Binh airport (Bac Ninh province) with Hanoi capital, the City People's Committee has directed the Department of Planning and Architecture to preside over and coordinate with the city's departments, branches and units to proactively and actively coordinate with departments, branches and units of Bac Ninh province and GTVT - TEDI Design Consulting Corporation (the unit assigned by the Ministry of Transport to study the plan) to study the road construction plans.
The Department of Planning and Architecture has issued document No. 10.2.2025 reporting to the City People's Committee on the connection plan from Gia Binh airport to the center of Hanoi city (the section in Hanoi city).
The Hanoi People's Committee basically agreed on the plan of the connecting route from Gia Binh airport to the center of Hanoi (the section within Hanoi city) - option 1 according to the report and proposal of the Department of Planning and Architecture.
Accordingly, the construction plan for a new elevated route north of the Hanoi - Lao Cai railway connecting to the intersection between the Hanoi - Lang Son expressway and Ring Road 3, the route overlaps Ring Road 3 and connects to the Tu Lien bridge approach road to the center of Hanoi Capital.
The length of the section in Hanoi is about 28.58km (of which, the newly built section is about 8.06km; the section overlapping with the Hanoi - Thai Nguyen Expressway/ Ring Road 3, Tu Lien Bridge Road is about 20.52km).
The total length of the entire route (Bac Ninh - Hanoi) is about 49.52km.
The Hanoi People's Committee and the People's Committee of Bac Ninh province agreed to increase the scale of the entire connecting route from Gia Binh airport (Bac Ninh province) to the center of Hanoi city to about 100-120m and expand the study space for urban development along both sides of the route from 300-400m.
The Hanoi People's Committee also agreed to propose research and orientation, development of urban railway lines along the connecting route from Gia Binh airport to the center of Hanoi (specialized in the next phase) to connect with urban railway line No. 01 (Yen Vien - Ngoc Hoi) and Lao Cai - Hanoi - Hai Phong railway line; agreed with the proposal to move the connecting route from Gia Binh airport to the center of Hanoi to the South about 100m and move the Lao Cai - Hanoi - Hai Phong railway line plan to synchronously the section adjacent to VSHIP Bac Ninh Industrial Park (so as not to affect VSHIP Bac Ninh Industrial Park).
After Bac Ninh province (the unit assigned by the Prime Minister to preside over in Notice No. 562/TB-VPCP dated December 18, 2024) reported to the Prime Minister to consider and approve the plan to build a connecting road from Gia Binh airport (Bac Ninh province) to the center of Hanoi, the Hanoi People's Committee will direct the city's departments and branches to update the road plan (the section on Hanoi city) to the project to adjust the Hanoi Capital Transport Planning to 2030 and vision to 2050 and locally adjust the Hanoi Capital Master Plan to 2045, vision to 2065 (if any).
