Emergency case in the heart of the capital on a special day

Amidst the urgent atmosphere of preparation for the Commemoration Ceremony, the parade, the parade of the 80th anniversary of the successful August Revolution (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2025) and the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (02.9.9.1945 - 23.9.2025), the medical team of Xanh Pon General Hospital promptly received and successfully treated a critical case of a child, leaving a deep impression of expertise, humanitarian spirit and community responsibility.

According to doctors, at around 3:00 p.m. on September 1, the hospital received a 10-year-old male patient transferred from the Thanh Nhan Hospital medical team in Ba Dinh Square, in a state of severe abdominal pain.

After examination and paraclinical tests, doctors determined that the patient had acute excess enterocolitis - a condition that required emergency surgical intervention. Immediately, the on-duty team held a quick consultation with the Pediatric Surgery specialist and reported to the hospital's Board of Directors.

On the evening of September 1, the surgical plan was implemented, and the endoscopic surgery to remove an excess bowel in one hole was successfully performed. This is the most advanced surgical method in the world and has been applied for many years at Xanh Pon General Hospital.

After directly performing the surgery, sharing with Lao Dong reporter, on the night of September 1, Master - Doctor in Residence Ha Van Quy (Pediatric Surgery Department - Xanh Pon General Hospital) said: Immediately after being taken to the emergency room by the authorities, we had an examination, ultrasound, and blood taken for testing with the results showing a high risk of excess enterocolitis.

"After the second consultation and ultrasound, the patient was scheduled for major bowel surgery. During the surgery, we also determined that the child had pre-excess enterocolitis, luckily it was discovered and the surgery was timely, so there were no dangerous complications" - Dr. Quy shared.

After minimalsive endoscopic surgery, the patient's condition was stable and he was transferred to the Pediatric Surgery Department for further monitoring, expected to be discharged after 3 days of treatment.

This child patient, like many other patients, was exempted from treatment costs because the hospital responded to the city's policy in ensuring medical work to serve the Ceremony, parade, parade, and free treatment for forces participating in the mission, delegates and the masses present at the event.

"This is not only a pure medical activity, but also an act of humanity - affirming the dedicated heart, the spirit of sharing and social responsibility of doctors in the capital" - the hospital representative shared.

The patient's family could not hide their joy when the patient was treated promptly. "We were really lucky to have the support of the authorities to take our child to the emergency room and receive enthusiastic care and treatment from doctors and nurses. The joy of our family's National Day is lucky and complete. This is truly an unforgettable memory for me. If the disease is not detected and surgery is performed early, my child may be in danger" - Mr. Nguyen Van Dan (Hong Son commune, Hanoi) - the father of the child shared.
