On October 30, 2025, Viettel Telecom Corporation (Viettel Telecom) said that thanks to the drastic implementation of response measures, Viettel waves are being maintained stably to serve the direction and operation of flood prevention by the government and the communication needs of people in Hue and Da Nang.
Amid the severe flood that caused deep flooding and isolation in many areas, Viettel units in Da Nang and Hue cities have demonstrated the spirit of "the network is the order", proactively deploying rescue, ensuring a smooth telecommunications network. In addition to the on-site technical force on duty 24/7, Viettel Telecom has also mobilized personnel from neighboring provinces to support Hue and Da Nang in transporting fuel, equipment, and batteries to " save the waves".
Currently, Viettel waves are still stable in 40 communes and wards across Hue city. All of Viettel's BTS stations are operating stably, with technical forces on duty 24/7, and fuel reserves to ensure infrastructure operations during the flood, said Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Huy Quang - Director of Viettel Hue City.
On the morning of October 29, after listening to the report on ensuring technical infrastructure for communication services in Hue city, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Binh - Standing Member of the City Party Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of Hue City - acknowledged and highly appreciated Viettel's communication work and requested to continue to maintain the telecommunications network well during and after the flood to serve rescue and communication work for people.
Directly present in deeply flooded and isolated areas to direct information rescue work at the scene. Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Vu Tra My - Director of Viettel Da Nang - said that he has closely coordinated with the City Military Command, borrowing boats to transport gasoline, explosives and technical human resources to isolated BTS stations. Many technical staff have overcome the strong water, directly fixed the problem, maintained the broadcasting station, and ensured communication for isolated areas. Thanks to that, Viettel's network in Da Nang is still maintained during the fierce floods.
In addition, in order to support people to stay in touch during natural disasters, all of Viettel's transaction stores, post offices and supermarkets in Hue city and Da Nang are open to provide free battery/phone charging points to people. Viettel Waves here also open roamming so that customers of other networks can use communication when necessary.
