The stock market continued its upward momentum for the 5th consecutive session on September 15, with green dominating and cash flow strongly concentrated in the midcap group. The focus of today's session is Vietnam Airlines' HVN stock when it increased the ceiling, setting a new historical peak of VND 36,300/share.
During the session, HVN shares increased sharply, almost completely at the selling side, while there was still about 2.7 million units at the ceiling. This development comes from positive information related to the new policy.
On September 11, the Government issued Decree 245/2025/ND-CP amending and supplementing a number of articles of Decree 155/2020/ND-CP guiding the Securities Law. An important point in this decree is that the Prime Minister has the right to decide not to apply the regulation on canceling mandatory listings in special cases for socio-economic, security - defense tasks.
With the new provision, the likelihood of a HVN being forced to cancel its listing as warned by HoSE is almost gone. This is considered a factor that "untie" investors' psychology, helping stocks increase strongly.
Not only HVN, the banking group continues to play a leading role, pushing the general index up. The codes BID (+3.1%), CTG (+2.8%), TCB (+2.1%), STB (+2.2%) increased sharply, along with MSN (+2.9%), HPG (+1.1%), GAS (+1.1%) spread positively throughout the market.
On the other hand, VHM decreased by nearly 2%, becoming the code that took away the most points from the VN-Index. Some other stocks such as HDB, VPB, VNM, NVL also adjusted slightly.
Statistics show that BID, CTG, HVN, VIX and MSN are the most active contributors to the VN-Index in today's session.
At the end of the session, VN-Index increased by 18.49 points (1.06%) to 1,684.07 points. HNX-Index increased by 4.18 points (1.51%) to 280.69 points. UPCoM-Index increased by 0.34% to 110.46 points.
Liquidity continues to improve, with trading value on HoSE reaching more than VND37,300 billion. Foreign investors still maintained a net sale of nearly VND1,400 billion, focusing on large stocks such as FPT, HPG, STB, SSI and CTG.
