During the 2026 New Year holiday, the traffic safety and order situation in Gia Lai province was basically stable, no complicated incidents occurred; in particular, the number of traffic accidents decreased sharply compared to the same period last year.
From December 31, 2025 to January 4, 2026, the whole province recorded 3 road traffic accidents, killing 1 person and injuring 2 people. Compared to the same period in 2025, there was a decrease of 6 cases, a decrease of 6 deaths and a decrease of 2 injuries.

During the 4-day New Year holiday, the traffic police force of the whole province discovered and handled 1,116 violations, including 166 passenger cars, 204 trucks, 4 container trucks, 104 cars and 637 motorbikes. Of which, 486 cases were fined with a total amount of more than 614 million VND.
Functional forces have revoked driver's licenses in 18 cases, deducted points from driver's licenses in 80 cases; temporarily seized 7 cars, 183 motorbikes, 1 other vehicle and 641 documents of various types serving the work of handling violations.
According to Senior Lieutenant Colonel Luong Thi Thu Quynh - Head of the Traffic Police Department of Gia Lai Provincial Police, during the 2026 New Year holiday, the unit organized 100% duty, mobilizing maximum forces and vehicles to synchronously deploy measures to ensure traffic order and safety in the area.

Traffic police forces strengthen patrols and controls on key roads, densely populated areas, inner cities, urban areas, rural traffic routes and roads leading to tourist areas, entertainment spots; focus on strictly handling violations that are direct causes of accidents and traffic congestion.
Traffic police teams and stations coordinate with ward and commune police to strengthen patrols and controls on rural traffic routes, arrange permanent forces at key traffic checkpoints, areas where events and cultural and entertainment activities take place to guide and regulate traffic in a timely manner.
Functional forces also proactively grasp the situation, coordinate to prevent and stop the situation of teenagers gathering, driving in groups, swerving, swerving, speeding, revving engines, revving engines, organizing illegal racing, especially in central wards.
In parallel with patrolling and handling violations, the traffic police force also does a good job of traffic diversion and guidance, actively supporting and creating favorable conditions for people to travel safely and smoothly during the holidays," Senior Lieutenant Colonel Quynh said.
