On June 25, functional agencies of Gia Lai province are investigating and clarifying the cause of an accident that occurred on the North-South railway line, passing through An Nhon ward, killing 1 woman.
According to initial information, at about 12:00 on June 24, passenger train SE9 running the Hanoi - Ho Chi Minh City route, driven by Mr. Nguyen Anh T. (born 1995, residing in Ha Tinh province), was traveling on the North - South railway line.
When arriving at Km1. 080+00 in An Nhon ward, train SE9 collided with Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong T.N (born 1994, residing in An Loi residential group, An Nhon Bac ward). The incident caused Ms. N. to die on the spot.
According to initial assessments by functional agencies, the victim crashed into the tracks when the train was running.
At the scene, the railway section where the incident occurred was straight, clear visibility, and bright weather. Train driver Nguyen Anh T. has a diesel locomotive driving license issued by the Vietnam Railways Authority in 2023, valid until 2033.
After completing the autopsy, functional forces handed over the victim's body to the family for funeral arrangements. The case is currently being further investigated and clarified.
