At about 9:10 am on June 26, in the Na Vien slope area, National Highway 4G, passing through Chieng Mai commune, Son La province, a serious traffic accident occurred between a tractor-trailer and a motorbike, killing 1 person and seriously injuring 2 others.
According to initial information, a tractor-trailer with license plate 36H-106. 73 pulling a trailer with license plate 36RM-024. 80, driven by Mr. N.V.T, was traveling in the direction of Son La - Song Ma.
When arriving at the Na Vien slope intersection area, belonging to Chieng Mai commune, the vehicle collided with a motorbike with license plate 26K1-320. 68 driven by Mr. L.V. K, Buot village, Chieng Mai commune, traveling in the opposite direction, carrying his wife and young child.
The strong collision caused the motorbike to be heavily damaged; the front of the tractor-trailer was folded backwards towards the truck bed. Three people on the motorbike were seriously injured.
Ms. T, Mr. K's wife, died immediately after being hospitalized. Mr. K and his young child are being treated at Son La Provincial General Hospital in serious condition, Mr. K has abdominal and thigh injuries; the young child suffered traumatic brain injury.
The accident also caused local traffic congestion on National Highway 4G during the time functional forces organized rescue, scene examination and traffic regulation.
Currently, the cause of the accident is being investigated and clarified by functional agencies.
