On the evening of March 30, Lam Dong provincial authorities are actively rescuing passenger car 50H-323.65 that fell into a deep ravine in Bao Loc Pass.
The driver of the passenger bus involved in the accident was Mr. Nguyen Van Lan (44 years old; residing in Dong Xoai city, Binh Phuoc province).
According to driver Nguyen Van Lan, the vehicle lost its brakes before the accident. This passenger bus was a contract vehicle of Bach Dang Company (located in Dong Xoai city, Binh Phuoc province), carrying 36 people at the time of the accident.
Previously, at 5:30 p.m. on March 30, Mr. Lan was driving a passenger bus from Da Lat to Ho Chi Minh City.
When reaching Km102+100 on National Highway 20, passing through Da Huoai district (Bao Loc pass), it collided with the rear of a truck with license plate 60H-153.46 driven by Nguyen Trung Hieu (48 years old; residing in Lien Hiep commune, Duc Trong district, Lam Dong province) traveling in the same direction ahead.
After the collision, the passenger bus crossed the left side of the road and fell down Bao Loc Pass.
The accident resulted in the death of Ms. T (26 years old; residing in Dong Xoai city) and the injury of some people in the car. Both vehicles were damaged after the accident.
The cause of the traffic accident is being further investigated and clarified by the authorities.
