On August 13, the People's Committee of Hoa Binh province issued a decision on the temporary suspension of officials from their positions. Accordingly, Mr. Tran Van Thanh - Deputy Head of the Provincial Industrial Park Management Board was temporarily suspended from his position from the date of signing the decision until a decision comes into legal effect from the competent authority.
The People's Committee of Hoa Binh province also assigned the Head of the Provincial Industrial Park Management Board to assign work to Mr. Tran Van Thanh according to regulations.
Previously, on May 30, Hoa Binh Provincial Police initiated a case and prosecuted Mr. Tran Van Thanh (57 years old, Deputy Head of the Industrial Park Management Board of Hoa Binh Province, former Chairman of the Cooperative Union of Hoa Binh Province) for the crime of abusing his position and power while performing official duties.
Also prosecuted for the above crime are Mr. Trinh Ngoc Thuy (53 years old) and Ms. Dinh Thi Ngoc Hoa (44 years old, both vice presidents of the Cooperative Alliance of Hoa Binh province).
According to the investigation documents, in 2018 and 2019, during the organization of training courses for management staff of the Hoa Binh Provincial Cooperative Union, the defendants took advantage of their positions and powers to shorten the study time, but still prepared settlement records for allowances for students as approved estimates, causing damage to the state budget, rights and legitimate interests of individuals participating in the classes.
Thus, after more than 2 months of the decision to prosecute by the police investigation agency, Mr. Tran Van Thanh was suspended from his position.
