On July 7, Ly Hoa Border Guard Station (Quang Tri Border Guard) said that it had just received information that a fishing boat was losing contact.
At about 2:35 pm on July 6, Ly Hoa Border Guard Station received a report from Ms. Phan Thi Hoa (born 1971, residing in Hong Duc village, Dong Trach commune) about her husband, Mr. Hoang Van The (born 1971) and fishing boat QB-22057-TS losing contact at sea.
According to the report, at about 12:00 on July 5, Mr. The, the ship owner cum captain, controlled fishing boat QB-22057-TS leaving the port to fish with a fisherman named Binh (full name, year of birth unknown), residing in Nam Duc village.
During operations at sea, the specific location has not been determined, only knowing that the ship moved from the Gianh river mouth area in the North direction, towards Mui Ong (Ron).
At about 8 pm on the same day, Mr. The called his wife, informing her that the ship was flooded. After this call, the phone lost signal and the family could not contact the ship.
Immediately after receiving the information, Ly Hoa Border Guard Station reported to superiors, and at the same time coordinated with functional forces to deploy verification and notify vehicles operating at sea to support the search for the fishing boat and 2 missing fishermen.
