On the morning of January 28, at the Military Port of Brigade 171, Ship 17 of Brigade 171, Naval Region 2 and the working delegation of the Vietnam People's Navy departed, starting a sea voyage to participate in activities within the framework of the Milan multilateral naval exercise in 2026, held in India.
According to the plan, during the journey, Ship 17 and the delegation will visit and greet the local authorities where the ship docked and the Lumut base of the Malaysian Navy.
Here, the delegation will organize foreign affairs activities such as receptions, cultural, artistic and sports exchanges, contributing to strengthening understanding and tightening friendship between navies of countries.
In India, the Navy ship will participate in the Milan 2026 multilateral naval exercise with navies of many countries, focusing on joint training contents, improving combat coordination capabilities and handling security situations at sea.
In a journey of more than 5,000 nautical miles, officers and soldiers on Ship 17 will combine long-distance sea training, training bravery, endurance, improving command organization capacity, combat coordination, weapon mastery, technical equipment, and combat readiness in remote sea conditions and complex weather.
According to Colonel Le Dinh Nghi - Deputy Chief of Staff of Naval Region 2, Head of the working delegation on Ship 17, the working trip was carried out at the invitation of the Malaysian Navy and the Indian Navy.
This activity is of great significance in consolidating and strengthening the friendly relations and defense cooperation between the Vietnamese Navy and the navies of countries in the region and around the world.
In the upcoming sea voyage, the Navy ship will overcome many harsh conditions of the sea, carrying messages of friendship, peace and prosperity, affirming the image of the Vietnam People's Navy as proactive and responsible in international cooperation activities.
