On March 24, Mr. Tran Ngoc Anh - Director of the Center for Rescue, Conservation and Development of Organisms (Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park Management Board) said that he had just coordinated with the Center for Forest Protection and World Heritage to release 11 wild animal individuals back to their natural environment.
Released individuals include many species such as: 2 sa nhân turtles, 1 land python, 5 civets, 1 border mountain turtle, 1 golden mountain turtle (all belonging to group 2B - list of endangered, precious, and rare animals) and 1 wild boar belonging to the group of common animals.
According to the unit representative, most individuals before release have been rescued, cared for and their survival habits have been restored. The pre-release assessment process is carried out thoroughly, including health checks, adaptability and living conditions suitable for each species.
During the transportation and re-release process, officials and employees perform carefully to reduce stress for animals and increase survival chances when returning to the natural environment.
Mr. Tran Ngoc Anh said that the re-release of wild animal individuals is the result of a methodical rescue, care and restoration process at the unit. This is also proof of the effectiveness of conservation work at Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park.
Through this, the unit calls on people to raise awareness in protecting wildlife, not to hunt, trade, or raise illegally. At the same time, encourage people to proactively hand over or coordinate with functional agencies when violations are detected, contributing to biodiversity conservation.
