The two people injured in the fire in Tan Hiep ward are Senior Lieutenant Vo Thanh Binh and Private Le Van Kien of the Fire Prevention and Fighting & Rescue Team of Area 32.
At the hospital, the Command Board of the Fire and Rescue Police Department of Ho Chi Minh City Police recorded the courageous spirit of the two officers and soldiers when participating in firefighting and rescue. Through this, they shared and encouraged the two comrades to maintain their optimistic spirit, actively treat, soon recover their health, and return to their units to work.
Previously, Lao Dong Newspaper reported that at about 6 pm on April 18, a fire occurred at a manufacturer workshop processing mattresses and foam on Tan Hiep 17 street, Tan Hiep ward, Ho Chi Minh City.
Regarding this fire, Ho Chi Minh City Police mobilized the Fire Prevention and Fighting and Rescue Team of Area 32 to the scene (with vehicles and forces including 6 fire trucks, 1 tanker truck and 34 officers and soldiers). By about 7:30 pm on the same day, the fire was controlled and extinguished.
During the firefighting mission, a drum containing Acetol solvent inside the facility suddenly exploded, burning Acetol was thrown at 2 officers and soldiers.

In which, Senior Lieutenant Vo Thanh Binh, although wearing protective clothing, fire helmets, and fire boots, was hit by a solvent flowing into his collar, causing burns to his back, face and hands. For Private Le Van Kien, he was burned in the face by fire, causing burns to his face.
Immediately, the fire fighting teams urgently extinguished the fire and organized first aid on the spot. After that, 2 officers and soldiers were taken to Binh Duong General Hospital for emergency treatment. Then transferred to Cho Ray Hospital for treatment.
At the scene, the fire and a column of smoke rose tens of meters high, still visible from afar. Notably, the fire location was near a gas station, causing people to worry about the fire spreading.
