By 9 pm on April 18, forces of Ho Chi Minh City Police had extinguished the factory fire on Tan Hiep 17 street, Tan Hiep ward, Ho Chi Minh City.
Initial information, at about 6 pm on the same day, a fire suddenly broke out at a factory on Tan Hiep 17 street. People used on-site vehicles to put out the fire but failed. The incident was later reported to functional agencies.
At the scene, the fire and a column of smoke rose tens of meters high, still visible from afar. Notably, the fire location was near a gas station, causing people to worry about the fire spreading.
Upon receiving the news, Ho Chi Minh City Police dispatched specialized fire trucks and many officers and soldiers to the scene to put out the fire. Two fire trucks were dispatched to the side of the gas station to bring water in to put out the fire.

By 7:30 PM on the same day, the fire was basically under control, preventing it from spreading to the gas station and surrounding households. After that, the Fire and Rescue Police proceeded to completely extinguish the fire.
It is known that the factory where the fire occurred is a warehouse of a sofa manufacturing company. Part of the factory collapsed, and many properties were burned.
Leaders of Tan Hiep Ward People's Committee said that the fire did not cause any casualties. The area of the factory where the fire occurred was about 750m2, the main fuel was foam and mattresses. The cause of the fire is being investigated and clarified.
