As usual, every time War Invalids and Martyrs Day approaches July 27, veteran Vang Van Luong (Ha Giang) goes to Vi Xuyen National Martyrs Cemetery to visit his old comrades. In the spacious and solid 3-room house, Mr. Luong said: "This year's War Invalids and Martyrs Day is more special because the family has just received support to build a new house.
In the past, every time it rained and winded, it was difficult and my health also declined, so receiving the care and help felt very warm."
According to Mr. Luong, the new house was supported by the Cardiovascular Center - E Hospital and the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics Association with 100 million VND to build.
The long-standing desire to live in a spacious house has now come true. From now on, you don't have to worry about the sun or the rain anymore. This is a timely source of encouragement, encouraging the soldiers of the past who heroically fought and protected every sacred land of the Fatherland.
Not only Mr. Luong, in recent years in the land of Vi Xuyen, activities to care for the lives of people with meritorious services to the revolution have received special attention. In addition to supporting housing and creating livelihoods, health check-up activities are implemented to promote the tradition of gratitude.

Directly fighting on the Vi Xuyen border front, veteran Mai Trong Nien (Bac Quang district, Ha Giang province) said he had participated in the battlefield since 1981, and in 1985 was injured while fighting hand-to-hand with enemy.
"The war has receded, but when the weather turns bad, the wounds still hurt. On July 18 and 19, when there was news that a group of doctors from Hanoi came to give free medical examinations to people with meritorious services, I really very excited.
Now that I'm old, traveling far for medical examination is very inconvenient. The activities of examining, consulting health care and donating medicine to veterans in remote areas are really meaningful," Mr. Nien said.

"Caring for the material and spiritual life of the families of meritorious people ensures an above-average living standard.
