On June 7, information PV obtained, Hue City Inspectorate just announced the inspection conclusion on the compliance with legal regulations in the management of telecommunications infrastructure and mobile subscriber information at Hue Telecommunications (VNPT Hue).
According to the inspection conclusion, besides the results achieved in investing, expanding telecommunications infrastructure and developing digital services, VNPT Hue still allowed many violations and shortcomings to occur in the process of deploying BTS stations and managing mobile subscriber information.
Specifically, in the period 2024 - 2025, 17/23 BTS stations invested by VNPT Hue did not implement the commencement notice and construction plan to state management agencies according to regulations.
Hue City Inspectorate determined that this was not in accordance with regulations on management of construction and development of telecommunications infrastructure in the area.
Notably, through random inspection of the verification of new subscriber information generated in 2024 and 2025, the inspection agency discovered 138 subscriber SIMs developed and managed improperly.
Violations include information not matching personal papers, portrait verification photos, video calls, subscriber information and verification time. By the time the inspection conclusion was issued, these shortcomings had not yet been overcome by VNPT Hue.
Faced with the above violations, Hue City Inspectorate proposed that the Chairman of the City People's Committee direct the Department of Science and Technology to sanction or advise on sanctioning administrative violations for 138 SIM subscribers who violated regulations.
Hue City Inspectorate also requested VNPT Hue to organize a review and clarify the responsibilities of relevant collectives and individuals; and at the same time urgently review and verify mobile subscriber information in accordance with current regulations.
