The leader of the People's Committee of Cuong Gian commune informed that at around 5:00 a.m. on October 24, people exercising discovered the bodies of D.V.D and N.P.S (both born in 2011, both 8th grade students at Nguyen Trai Secondary School, Nghi Xuan district) washed ashore in Bac Moi village and Dong Tay village (Cuong Gian commune).
Afterwards, the bodies of the two children were handed over by the authorities to their relatives for funeral arrangements.
Previously, on the afternoon of October 22, after school, D.V.D (residing in Xuan Giang commune, Nghi Xuan district) and N.P.S (residing in Tien Dien town, Nghi Xuan district) invited each other to go to Xuan Thanh beach (Nghi Xuan district) to play and then went missing.
When the children did not return, their family notified the local authorities to organize a search and found the children's bicycles, clothes and two pairs of sandals left on the beach, so they determined that the children may have drowned and gone missing.
