Expanding National Highway 13: More than 1,000 households affected
National Highway 13, the section from Binh Trieu Bridge to Vinh Binh Bridge (5.9 km long) will be expanded to 60 m. The project includes the construction of a 3.2 km long overpass (elevated road) with 4 lanes, from the Binh Loi Bridge intersection to the Binh Phuoc Bridge intersection.
The total investment of the entire project is about 20,900 billion VND, divided into two component projects. Of which, component project 1 (compensation, support, resettlement) has an investment capital of VND 14,619 billion, using the Ho Chi Minh City budget.

The total area of land to be recovered is about 39.54 hectares, affecting 1,091 households, of which 238 households must be cleared, 853 households must be partially cleared. Ho Chi Minh City has allocated VND12,400 billion in 2025 to implement compensation work.
Site clearance will be carried out from the third quarter of 2025 to the third quarter of 2026. Construction is expected to start in the third quarter of 2026 and be completed in 2028.
Ho Chi Minh City - Moc Bai Expressway: More than 2,100 households affected
The Ho Chi Minh City - Moc Bai Expressway project is over 50 km long, with phase 1 having a total investment of over VND 19,600 billion. Of which, the section through Ho Chi Minh City is more than 24.7 km long with about 220 hectares of land to be reclaimed.
It is expected that 2,177 households and organizations will be affected, of which 254 cases are eligible for resettlement, and about 178 households will build houses on agricultural land.
Ho Chi Minh City has allocated more than VND 4,333 billion this year to carry out compensation and site clearance. The payment and handover of the site will take place from the third quarter to the fourth quarter of 2025.
The project will start construction of the residential access road and the overpass on September 2, 2025 with budget capital. The main expressway is expected to start construction in January 2026 under the BOT form and be completed by the end of 2027.

North bank of Doi Canal: More than 1,600 cases of land reclamation
The environmental improvement project, infrastructure construction of the North bank of the Doi Canal (in the old District 8) has a total investment of more than VND 7,400 billion.
The project reclaims about 5.85 hectares of land, involving 1,617 cases, of which 1,020 households are cleared.
The total compensation capital is more than 5,335 billion VND. To date, the city has paid 1,010 cases with the amount of VND 2,959 billion, reaching a rate of 55.46%. There are currently 60 days left unresolved, equivalent to VND 2,367 billion (44.54%).
The project is expected to start construction on the occasion of National Day, September 2, 2025 and be fully completed in 2028.

Renovation of Xuyen Tam Canal: Nearly 2,100 cases affected
The Xuyen Tam canal renovation project, infrastructure construction and urban embellishment has a total investment of more than VND 17,200 billion, of which compensation, support and resettlement costs account for more than VND 14,000 billion.
The section through the old Binh Thanh District needs to reclaim more than 53 hectares of land, affecting 2,077 cases. Of which, 1,230 households and 23 organizations were completely cleared; the remaining 824 cases were partially cleared.
Currently, compensation has been paid to 810 cases with an amount of more than VND 2,122 billion (reaching 18%). The remaining 1,267 cases with an estimated cost of VND9,664 billion need to be resolved in the coming time.

Previously, the section through the old Go Vap district was started in May 2025. The section through the old Binh Thanh District is expected to hand over the site to the two construction packages before September 2, 2025 to start construction. The entire project is expected to be completed in 2028.
