Of the 4 crew members on the boat, only Mr. Tran Van Huu (30 years old, residing in Van Hai commune, Quynh Luu district, Nghe An) wore a life jacket and drifted at sea for many hours, then on March 19 was rescued by fishermen and border guards and brought to shore.
The remaining 3 people, including Mr. Nguyen Van Cuong, Mr. Le Tuan Anh (all residing in Van Hai commune) and Mr. Bui Sy Nhat (residing in Quynh Luu district) are missing and have not been found.
With the discovery of a body on the person with a citizen identification card named Bui Sy Nhat washed ashore in Ha Tinh, it is likely that this victim was a missing fisherman on a fishing boat with registration number NA 80-209-TS.
